Overview

Say Cake is a mobile app for ordering custom cakes for events, planned together. Co-planners build the cake, confirm allergies, and approve the baker’s quote in one place, so a coworker’s promotion cake doesn’t depend on one person herding a group chat.

TL;DR

The problem
Ordering an event cake as a group runs through a chaotic group chat: options get lost, one person coordinates everything, and no one is sure who agreed to which price, or whether allergies were passed on.
What I did
Interviewed 6 event planners, designed a shared ordering and quote flow, and benchmarked it against a group chat with 5 new planners.
The outcome
One shared order: co-planners build the cake together, every planner confirms allergies, and the quote is approved only when everyone has said yes.
